Membership: Encourage others to join HBG with you. (This need is always in force!) Explain that an increase in membership strengthens Hollandia’s appeals in seeking corporate and foundation support. Provide individual names--or even lists--of people likely to join us.
Programs/Events: Assist in organizing informative and fun horticultural or educational events. Help to get the word out to segments of the public whom you know. WE ARE SEEKING VOLUNTEERS TO PLANT BULBS IN OCTOBER FOR THE 2010 BULB FESTIVAL, APRIL 17 & 18. AND WE'LL NEED HELP WITH VARIOUS FESTIVAL TASKS. THESE INCLUDE SALES TENT, FOOD TENT, KIDSPACE, AND PARKING.
Fund-Raising: Identify potential donors; assist in organizing fund-raising events; assist in grant research.
Public Relations: Prepare and/or staff information booths; help with presentations; recommend additions to our mailing list.
Office: Assist with mailings; serve as on-call support for making computer processes work.
Garden Exhibits: Assist with planting and maintenance—e.g., for the April Bulb Festival. Build displays and signs.
Photography: Take photos of HBG events and archive the shots.
